Hello everyone, in preparation for Sunday May 6, our school will be participating in a fundraiser to support Kids Help Phone. This organization offers support to kids who are experiencing cruelty, bullying, the loneliness of depression, anxiety, or feeling the pressures to succeed, compete, or to conform.
When you think that there is no one to talk to, or no where to turn, who can always call Kids Help Phone and talk to someone.
Please help and donate. Your donation forms are due on Monday May 7.

Jumpify Me!!
As many of you are aware from posters around the school and from the announcements made on the P.A system, on May 26, our school will be participating in the Jump Rope for Heart . This is an event run by the Heart and Stroke Foundation . More than 8 out of 10 Canadian children between the ages of 5 and 17 aren’t active enough to support optimal health and development, putting children at serious risk for heart disease at a young age – but it doesn’t have to be this way.
Please come to school ready to be active and wearing proper gym clothes (sweat pants, t-shirt, and running shoes).
Parents please find a permission form coming home with your child, please sign it and return them back to school.
As you are all aware that healthy eating and exercise is very important to a healthy and long life. This topic works perfectly with our gym, health and science unit.
For homework please do the following:

For homework please do the following:
- Find all your favourite foods in your house and write them down in a list.
- Look at the side of the food container where it shows you the "Nutritional Facts" (Remember we discussed this during our last health class. I added a photo to help you remember what it looks like)
- Write down next to the food how much: a) Sugar there is and b) Calories there is
- Please bring this list in with you tomorrow as we will be discussing our findings during science time.

How big is our classroom garden?
As most of you know we will be starting a new unit in math called Measurement. We already had practice on estimation earlier on in the school year, so my first question to you would be:
Can you ESTIMATE how big our classroom garden is? (your estimation should be in either cm, dm, m or Km).
When we are in class together we will figure out the actual measurement of our garden in class tomorrow as an introduction to our new unit.

It's that Time Again....
This week is our turn to clean up the school yard of all the wrappers, and junk that is left. Please remember that you are to use the Nipper Reachers, gloves, and to carry around the plastic garbage bags.
Every recess 3 different students will take turns to clean our school yard for the rest of the week.
We will decide who goes first tomorrow morning before first recess.
